ハワイ生まれの西元シスターズの姉、エミリ。2015年春、15歳で妹のジュリとともに日本のプロ資格を獲得しました。はじめの年は日本の力の無い波に苦戦しましたが、翌年は３度の準優勝でファイナルランキング２位。日本プロレディース界の完璧な世代交代の立役者となりました。2017年シーズンは免許を取得して妹を助手席に乗せ、日本のツアーを元気にドライビングアラウンド。妹をグランドチャンピオンへ導き、自身もまた２位をキープしました。台風シーズンには３０３のホーム四国へも車を走らせ、ビーチやリーフ、そして河口と本当によくサーフしました。2018年からはジュリとふたり世界ツアーへ参戦。言葉の壁がない強い心の姉妹は太平洋に浮かぶ小さな島から、たくさんの国々を旅しながらコンペティションサーフィンを続けました。コンテストに出ながら一方ではアスリートとして栄養学をオンラインで学び、コロナ禍を経て、現在は日本語の学位を取得するためにハワイ大学へ通っています。英語と日本語。ゆくゆくはオンライン語学クラスの生徒を増やし、翻訳や通訳の仕事をしながらライフであるサーフィンとサーフトリップを続けていきたいと瞳を輝かせます。

Emily is the older one of Hawaii born surf sisters. She decided to follow JPSA tour back in 2015, passed the pro test along with her sister, Julie. Had hard time dealing with Japan’s gutless surf, but 2nd year, she did well and finished overall runner up foe 2016 ranking. It seemed as if her performance leads the generation of change in Japanese women’s circuit. She was old enough to get driving license in 2017, so the sisters were driving all over Japan to surf. Her sister ends up became a champ, and Emily kept her position as 2nd over all. They also scored Shikoku’s reef, beach & famous river mouth every time they brock. She has been touring the world with Julie since 2018. The strong-minded sisters, with no language barriers, traveled from a small island in the Pacific Ocean to many countries while competing in surfing contests. While competing, she studied nutrition online as athletes, went through the Corona Disaster, and are currently attending the University of Hawaii to get a degree in Japanese. English and Japanese. Eventually, she would like to increase the number of students in her online language classes and continue surfing and surf trips as her life while working as a translator and interpreter.
